The North Korean Challenge

What Went Before?
North Korea, a dictatorship armed to the teeth but unable to feed its own people without foreign aid, has specialized in provoking the international community for survival. As it has wrangled invitations to talks and extracted fresh aid, it has never given up its trump card, its nuclear weapons program.
1993>North Korea, Fighting Inspection, Renounces Nuclear Arms Treaty. North Korea, in a defiant move against international pressure to inspect its suspected nuclear weapons development program, announced this morning that it was withdrawing from the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty to defend "its supreme interest."

22Oct1994>U.S. and North Korea Sign Pact to End Nuclear Dispute
. After almost four months of difficult negotiations, the United States and North Korea signed an agreement today to end their dispute over North Korea's nuclear program but kept secret many details of how the accord will be put into effect.

27Nov1996>North Korea Releases American It Detained for 3 Months as a Spy
. A weary-looking Evan C. Hunziker, who had been detained in North Korea for three months, arrived in Tokyo today with the United States Congressman who negotiated his release.

31Aug1998>North Korea Fires Missile Over Japanese Territory
. North Korea today fired a two-stage ballistic missile across Japan, which called the firing ''extremely dangerous.''

30Jan2002>Bush Focusing On Terrorism. President Bush told Americans tonight that ''our war against terror is only beginning'' and sent new warnings to terrorists around the world and to three nations -- Iran, Iraq and North Korea.

17Oct2002>NORTH KOREA Admits program On Nuclear Arms
. Confronted by new American intelligence, North Korea has admitted that it has been conducting a major clandestine nuclear-weapons development program for the past several years, the Bush administration said tonight. Officials added that North Korea had also informed them that it has now ''nullified'' its 1994 agreement with the United States to freeze all nuclear weapons development activity.

30Aug2003>Six Nation Talks. The United States, North Korea, China, Russia, South Korea and Japan ended three days of sometimes fiery negotiations here on Friday and decided to keep talking, as Bush administration officials concluded that the diplomatic track still offered the best hope of resolving the Korean nuclear crisis.

19Sep2005>North Korea Says It Will Abandon Nuclear Efforts
.
North Korea agreed Monday to end its nuclear weapons program in return for security, economic and energy benefits, potentially easing tensions with the United States after a two-year standoff over the North's efforts to build atomic bombs.

05Jul2006>Missiles Fired by North Korea; Tests Protested.
North Korea test-fired at least six missiles over the Sea of Japan on Wednesday morning, including an intercontinental missile that apparently failed or was aborted 42 seconds after it was launched, White House and Pentagon officials said.

09Oct2006>North Koreans Say They Tested Nuclear Device.
North Korea said Sunday night that it had set off its first nuclear test, becoming the eighth country in history, and arguably the most unstable and most dangerous, to proclaim that it has joined the club of nuclear weapons states.

31Oct2006>North Korea Will Resume Nuclear Talk
North Korea agreed Tuesday to resume nuclear disarmament talks, a first sign of easing tensions since the country’s nuclear test this month. But the talks have dragged on inconclusively for three years, and the chances for rolling back the country’s now-proven nuclear capability remained uncertain.

13Feb2007>In Shift, Accord on North Korea Seems to Be Set.
The United States and four other nations reached a tentative agreement to provide
North Korea with roughly $400 million in fuel oil and aid, in return for the North’s starting to disable its nuclear facilities and allowing nuclear inspectors back into the country, according to American officials who have reviewed the proposed text.

27Jun2008>North Korea’s Intent in Razing Tower Is Unclear.
International television crews were invited to reclusive
North Korea on Friday to witness the destruction of the cooling tower at the country’s main nuclear weapons plant. Viewers around the world later watched the most visible symbol of the North’s nuclear ambitions collapse in a cloud of shattered concrete.

24Sep2008>North Koreans Bar Inspectors at Nuclear Site
North Korea’s move to resume the reprocessing of plutonium, perhaps as soon as next week, left the country on the verge of restarting a nuclear weapons program whose shutdown had been portrayed by the White House as a significant diplomatic achievement.

11Oct2008>North Korea Is Off Terror List After Deal With U.S. The Bush administration announced Saturday that it had removed
North Korea from a list of state sponsors of terrorism in a bid to salvage a fragile nuclear deal that seemed on the verge of collapse.

China and North Korea have been detained by the North Korean military, a human rights activist and another source said Thursday.

05Apr2009>North Koreans Launch Rocket Over the Pacific.
North Korea defied the United States, China and a series of United Nations resolutions by launching a rocket on Sunday that the country said was designed to propel a satellite into space, but that much of the world viewed as an effort to prove it is edging toward the capability to shoot a nuclear warhead on a longer-range missile.

26may2009>North Korea Is Said to Test-Fire 3 More Missiles. One day after its nuclear test drew angry and widespread condemnation,
North Korea further antagonized the international community on Tuesday by test-firing three short-range missiles.

15Jun2009>U.S. to Confront, Not Board, North Korean Ships
. The Obama administration will order the
Navy to hail and request permission to inspect North Korean ships at sea suspected of carrying arms or nuclear technology, but will not board them by force, senior administration officials said Monday.

05Aug2009>Bill Clinton and Journalists in Emotional Return to U.S
. Former President
Bill Clinton arrived in the United States Wednesday morning after a dramatic 20-hour visit to North Korea, in which he won the freedom of two American journalists, opened a diplomatic channel to North Korea’s reclusive government and dined with the North’s ailing leader, Kim Jong-il.

03Sep2009>N. Korea Reports Advances in Enriching Uranium
.
North Korea declared Friday that it was in the “concluding stage” of tests to enrich uranium. Its statement would appear to end a decade-long debate within American intelligence agencies about whether the country was working on a second pathway to building nuclear weapons.

27Mar2010>S. Korean Navy Ship Sinks in Disputed Waters.
A South Korean Navy patrol ship sank near the disputed western maritime border with
North Korea early Saturday after suffering damage to its hull, South Korea’s military said.

19May2010>South Korea Publicly Blames the North for Ship’s Sinking. South Korea formally accused North Korea on Thursday of responsibility for the sinking of a South Korean warship in March, killing 46 sailors, in one of the deadliest provocations since the two countries ended the Korean War in a truce in 1953.

21July2010>U.S. to Add to Sanctions on N. Korea.
The Obama administration announced Wednesday that it would impose further economic sanctions against
North Korea, throwing legal weight behind a choreographed show of pressure on the North that included an unusual joint visit to the demilitarized zone by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates.

08nov2010>South Korea Drops Its Call for Apology From North. In a shift that could pave the way for new talks on the dismantling of
North Korea’s nuclear weapons program, the government in the South has quietly abandoned its demand that the North apologize for the sinking of a South Korean naval vessel, no longer making that a condition for the nuclear talks or other future exchanges.

23Nov2010>‘Crisis Status’ in South Korea After North Shells Island. The South Korean military went to “crisis status” on Tuesday and threatened military strikes after the North fired dozens of shells at a South Korean island, killing two of the South’s soldiers and setting off an exchange of fire in one of the most serious clashes between the two sides in decades.

What is the True Meaning of Life?

....................................The question being asked to me is: “What is the meaning of life?” The biblical answer is: Life is the cause of existence of everything there is; and the purpose by which it was made to exist..............................
.....................................We can not understand the true meaning of life without understanding its purpose. A life lived not with its purpose is lived in vain and is wasted..................................

Snooty and Ignorant: Lessons in social media

on twitter. mai mislang, a member of presidential delegation to Hanoi (for a state visit and the 17th Asean summit

mai mislang: “the wine sucks.”
ricky carandang: ...which one, white or red wine...
mislang: ”Red, the white is fine.”

mislang also tweeted, “Sorry pero walang pogi dito.” and “Crossing the speedy motorcycle laden streets of Hanoi is one of the easiest ways to die.”

those tweets are her way of saying thanks and being "extremely blessed to be in a beautiful country blessed with warm hospitable people"..... as she was quoted to have said in her apology.

Anyway, Mislang is secure in her MalacaƱang position. As Carandang said, he is “trusted” by Aquino.

Si Rico Puno at Jesus Versoza nga abswelto........ ano ba naman yung tweet bashing ni Mislang kumpara doon.

sabi nga ni Carandang , “It’s a minor incident.”

UNTV 37-Isang Araw Lang Campaign: Rice (Bigas)

In the search for the true and right religion, what are the bases MCGI has?

EFS: So, you will know if a religion is true. You, yourself, shall know whether we are true or not. Where? In the doctrines. The doctrine should come from God, not from one's self. You see that my answer is in the Bible. I did not give any answer that came from the newspaper, or from wrappers, nor did I teach fabrications to my brethren. We have no limbo nor purgatory - because these are not in the Bible. The one who speaks in his own way, seeks his own glory. But he who seeks the glory of God who sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Why? You shall know of the doctrine if one speaks from God or speaks of himself. Travel the whole world... You might only have travelled the Philippines, but travel the whole Philippines, and travel the whole world, if you have the chance to go abroad. Look for a congregation which always preaches what is in the Bible, that is only one. You shall know that through the doctrine. The doctrine did not come from us, but from God. That is my answer.

What is the true salvation of the soul?

The true salvation of man’s soul is what is written in James 1:21“Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.”

If you noticed the verse, brother, the one mentioned that can save souls is receiving the engrafted word. It means, if we believe in the words of God, and receive them, that is the salvation of our souls. Listen to I Peter 1:9 - “Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.”

The salvation of souls happens when we receive the faith, the purpose of faith. Faith is to believe in the words of God. So they are related – receive the words of God, believe in them – that will save your soul as stated by Saint Peter and Saint James. To receive the words of God, to believe in the words of God, that will save souls. Which word of God should we receive and believe in to save our souls? Which word of God?

In Ephesians 1:13“In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”

It is clear that the Gospel is the word of Christ, not the word of Moses, nor of Elijah, but the words of Christ. We will receive the Gospel, that will save our souls, we should believe in that.

The proof is, Christ said that in John 8:31Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;”

If you believe, you will receive the word, you will endure. The word is the doctrine, the Gospel, that is salvation, brother. In I Corinthians 15:1-2Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;” “By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.”

It is clear that the Gospel, the doctrines of Christ, will be received to be saved. The Church written in the Gospel is the Church of God. Let us read the Church written in the Gospel which is the word of Christ.

II Corinthians 1:1“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth,”

The Church of God is the Church in the Gospel. So, if there is a religion which you need to join – that is the Church of God. The problem is, you go somewhere else. The Church that is in the Bible. You would be in groups that believe in “Once saved, always saved,” that is great foolishness. Even if you are in the Church, you received the Word, but if you are not careful and do not remain in the Word, you will also perish!

Listen to Hebrews 6:4-6 - “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,” “And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,” “If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance;”

You have tasted the good Word of God, you were enlightened, you were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, but if you fall away from God, it is impossible for you to repent. Understood? So you do not have salvation. How does man fall away from God?

Let us read Isaiah 59:2 -“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.”

So, if man committed grievous sins, you are deliberately committing them, you will fall away from God even you have received the Holy Spirit. You will be separated if you intentionally commit grievous sins.

Hebrews 10:26-27“For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,” “But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.”

See that? “Once saved, always saved” is not written in the Bible. Even if you have received the doctrines, if grievous sins separated you, you commit them intentionally, there is no sacrifice that remains for the sins. You do not have salvation. God will reprobate you. II Corinthians 13:5 – “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”

Meaning, “once saved, always saved” is not true. So, the true salvation is in the Word of God. Believing, receiving and remaining in the Word of God, in the Church written in the Bible. That is the true salvation.

And I hope that answers your question.

Can a frequent listener to the doctrines of the Bible be saved?

When you listen only but you do not obey, you are only deceiving yourself. You will not be saved. And it is very evil for a person who deceives his own self. Because when you deceive your self, you will deceive all people. Your spouse, children, those who are dear to you, you will deceive them all, because you have deceived even yourself. So remaining to be a hearer is evil.

You should listen and obey.

Saint Paul said to the Romans in Romans 2:13 - "For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified."

What is the Bible's concept of perfection?

What is a perfect man in the Bible? Biblically speaking, a perfect man is somebody who does not offend in word. He is not offended in God’s word. He has a heart that will accept all God’s teachings. Then, you are perfect. I hope you got that answer. It doesn’t mean that because you sin, you are not perfect anymore. Paul sinned, but he is perfect. Noah sinned, but he was considered perfect. Job sinned also, but he was considered perfect. The parents of John the Baptist sinned also. Because we are prone to sin, we are weak. But it does not mean that because we commit sin unintentionally, we did not do it with malicious intent or criminal intent, we committed our sin unintentionally, it doesn’t mean that you are not perfect anymore. A man who is considered perfect by God is somebody who accepts all His words, who do not offend in the word of God. That is the meaning of perfection in the biblical concept.
I hope you got my answer.
